Seven of the most bizarre alcoholic drinks in the world

Labels:

During the time, people managed to produce alcohol from practically every organic substance. There is almost no fruit that can´t be distilled but some people went too far. Some of them put bizarre taste amplifiers to the drinks. Some say the reason is to give the drink and the drinker special powers and some are just a marketing stunt.  Here is a list of some of the drinks that it is really hard to look at, let alone drink them.

1 Wine with snakes, lizards and scorpions

This drink is for the brave ones. For the ones who hate that wine critics and their sophisticated sense of taste. If you like the feeling of snakes, lizards and scorpions touching your teeth and tongue while drinking wine, this one is the best choice for you.

2 Mamma Mia! Pizza Beer

Beer with taste is becoming more and more popular. Most people like the subtle taste of lemon or orange in their favorite alcoholic sparkling refreshment. One family in Illinois decided to make one that tastes like your favorite food. What can possible be better than making a pizza, grinding it, mixing with hot water and adding standard ingredients for beer. After only two weeks you get yourself the weirdest beer ever. I chose the pizza beer as the strangest one, but you should know that Americans use similar process to create a variety of flavors. Some of them are: doughnut beer, bacon beer, chocolate beer, maple syrup beer…

3 Rice wine with young mice

Even though Americans mix their drinks with everyday dishes, the Chines do it by mixing every day animals. What is better than drinking the rice wine, which allegedly has some healing powers, than adding just born mice in it? It also has a really catchy name: Baby mouse wine. Forget the rice and its healing power, the mice are the things you want in you beverage.

4 Wine with eel

Eels from the river Mekong are considered to be the best to put in the wine. But, it can´t be just any wine. In Laos, there is a special mix of spices, roots and of course eels that makes the best wine. Well, that is what the creators are saying.

5 Seagull´s wine

Although some of the drinks mentioned before are really strange, this one is probable the strangest when it comes to the process of making it. If you thought that the pizza beer was strange, think again. The Inuit people make their special wine from seagulls. The process is simple; you catch a seagull, kill it and jam it whole in a bottle. You leave the bottle in the sun to ferment and that is it, you got yourself a seagull´s wine. There are no pictures of it on the Internet to show you and you should consider yourself lucky for that.

6 Vodka from milk

It is not just any milk, it is the one from a mare. You don´t usually think about milk when you are brainstorming about horses, but it seems that someone did, and decided to make a vodka from it. It has a beautiful white color but I can´t imagine the test of that stale milk that was used in making it.

7 Three penis wine

Yes, the Chinese created one more special drink. They are consuming the “special” organs from many animals to gain great sexual power. I don´t really know how they make such a great wine, and honestly, don´t want to think about it much. I just know that I won´t be searching for any strange Chinese food for quite some time.

Man claims to be in a “blacked out state” after stabbing a lover

On June 20 police got a call from a man in a block at the Mounds View, Minn, that he got stabbed and was dying. After arriving at the scene police found a naked man laying in the grass in front of the building. The man, later identified as Gooler from Minneapolis, wasn´t the one that called the police. After regaining consciousness, Gooler told the police he fell from the third floor balcony. When the police entered the apartment, belonging to the mentioned balcony, they found the stabbed victim. They found a lot of blood and a bloody knife and scissors on the floor of the living room.

At the interrogation Gooler told the police that he meet the victim on a gay phone chat line. They meet once on June 17 and again on June 20. Gooler said that they drank a lot of vodka and that he blacked out and doesn´t remember what happened until he was awaken by the police in front of the building.

A witness told the police that she saw the victim and Gooler running out from the apartment. The victim was yelling: “Help, help, he stabbed me. Help, I am dying”. The witness also stated that she saw Gooler running behind the victim and yelling: “He stabbed me first”.

The doctors said that Gooler only sustained injuries from the fall and none from a sharp object that can be considered a stabbing wound.

The police discovered that Gooler was already sentenced to 18 months in prison for threatening someone with a knife. He also claimed to be in a blacked out state then.

Nik Wallenda walks across Grand Canyon using a high-wire, a balancing pole and no safety measures

This man knows no fear! Nik Wallenda managed to walk over the Grand Canyon on a 2-inch steel cable. The Sunday was a great day for self-named “King of the high wire”, when he managed to fulfill his dream of walking over the Grand Canyon with no protection. The walk was 1.400 feet long and it took exactly 22 minutes and 54 seconds. All the time during the walk he could be heard praying and repeating “Thank you, Jesus.”

Except being a great achievement from anyone´s point of view it was a great personal accomplishment for Nik. It is because while his grandfather tried to walk over the high wire in Puerto Rico, he slipped, fell and died.

The “Grand Canyon” walk was broadcasted and watched live in more than 217 countries. Viewers were able to see the walk from Nik´s point of view through the camera placed on his body.

When reaching the other side he kissed the ground and said that the walk was unbelievable. He said that his arms ache, and even though he had to stop twice it was all worth it. He described the view as “breathtaking”.

When asked where he gets the strength and inspiration, he talks about his Christian faith. It is something that gives him peace and the topic he addresses in his new book called “Balance”

For his next stunt, he is planning to walk between new York´s Chrysler Building and Empire State Building. Let´s hope he manages to fulfill his dream safely.

The sex scandal from 1980´s is finally closed

The story about Jesse Friedman and his father Arnold is finally closed. They were both convicted after a 1980´s sex scandal. It is interesting that even after the case was closed and Arnold died, the public was still interested in the story. After an Oscar nominated documentary that was based on the story there was a three-year review of the case. Even then some believed that prosecutors won´t be able to make a fair review of their own work and that the decision can´t be trusted.

During the re-investigation process the half-dozen prosecutors investigated the theory that police used illegal investigating techniques, with some of them being hypnotism and public pressures. It was also questionable if the Friedman´s confession was pressured by the judge and prosecutors. At least 35 children related to the case were interviewed by a team of 12 detectives in a short time period. There was no way to influence the children in any way, and every detective was in charge on only one part of the investigation. The parents also believe that Friedman and his father were responsible for the abuse and emotional problems of their children.

The reinvestigation confirmed that the original decision was the right one.

After all that time, the story can be finally finished, for both Friedman and the public. Now it is clear that he was responsible for the abuse and fairly sentenced to jail. Even though he was released in 2001, the real truth wasn´t clear until now.

Six ways the Star trek is liying to us

Be the first to comment!
Labels:
One of the reasons why sci-fi movies are so popular is definitely because of some special effects. Star trek is one of the series that many other looked up to, and took their ideas as base for their stories. Almost every sci-fi movie takes place in space and has at least one important thing that has nothing to do with real life physics. If the sci-fi movies would follow the rules that physics has set for us, they would be boring. You ask why? Here are the answers…

1.There are no explosions in space

Although this statement may not be generally true, it is true when it comes to the spaceship explosions we are used to. Just like on Earth, explosion in space can happen if there is enough oxygen. The ship can explode from the inside, but there would be no fire once it reaches space. In reality there would be only one bright flash and broken parts of the ship. Every Star trek battle scene features some kind of explosion, either the exploding torpedo or part of the hull after being hit by a phaser.

2 There is no sound in space

Universe is one big vacuum, and there can be no sound in vacuum. Sound is a wave that travels through space by vibrating the molecules on its way. There are no free molecules in universe so the sound can´t be transferred. Forget about all that fancy sounds of explosions, flybys, engine sounds, phasers… there can be none of that.

3 There is no aerodynamics in space

There were some people that claimed that Federation ships are designed in the way in which they are to be fast, and that the Borg cube is spending too much energy because of its flat surface. As I said before, the universe is a vacuum, and there are no particles that could slow the ship down on its voyage between the stars.

4 No planet is the same

Most of the M class (suitable for human life) planets look like Earth. The reason for that is that the show is filmed on Earth. Because of the limited budget, you can see familiar plants, animals, even geographical features from our planet that should be hundreds of light years away. The alien planets also always have the same gravity as earth, the same temperature and the same clouds…

5 No alien is the same

Most of the aliens in Star trek look the same with exception of just one or two subtle differences (like spots, ears or wrinkles). Even the ones that are obviously not humans (Klingons, Cardasians, Ferengis) have two legs, two hands, one head… you see where I am going. But, the Star trek creators are as smart as they are budget-limited. They created one episode in Star Trek: The next generation series where it is all explained. There was an ancient species (possibly even the first one ever) that spread its genetic material trough the galaxies and made us all like them. It is an ingenious explanation… isn´t it?

6 The space is really, really big

In Star trek: Deep space nine; there are many great battle scenes. The tactics that are used are the same ones used on Earth – which makes no sense at all. If there is a big fleet of starships in front of you, you don´t need to try to go through them, you can always go above or underneath. The same is true for avoiding asteroid belts. They are just as the name says, in the shape of a belt. It is easy to avoid them just like the enemy fleet. But of course, where is the fun in that?

Who would win the movie-monster fight?

There are a lot of movie monster out there. During the years many legends and stories featuring some sort of a supernatural being found its way to the big screen. They are all unique in some way and again similar in the other. The question is which monster is the strongest of all. What if all classic movie monsters would meet in the same place? Who would win? Who would get the best movie monster title? Let´s find out.

Firstly, we are going to analyze every classic monster separately before we clash them with each other.

The zombies

Probable the best known movie monsters are the zombies. According to IMDB there are 640 movies that have zombies as their main villains. It would be nearly impossible or just very complicated, to analyze all of them, so I will stick to the basics. The zombies are mostly the dead that managed to come back to life. They are slow, stupid, and easily killed but their advantage is in the numbers. There are always more zombies than humans because all that is needed to become one of them is a bite or a scratch.

The vampires

The most popular movie monsters are the vampires. There are more than three times less vampire movies than there are zombies, but the first managed to attract much more people to the theaters. When it comes to the looks, we can´t really say if the vampires should be considered ugly or attractive. The first movies showed them as ugly, blood sucking monster, but then came Interview with the vampire, The vampire diaries, True blood and the one and only Twilight. But, the important thing is not how they look but what they can do. Just like the zombies, the vampires are also dead. They don´t look like that because they feed on the human or animal blood to keep them fresh. They are as smart as humans, but much stronger. Some of them can even fly, read minds, move objects with their thoughts… To kill them you should use a wooden stake and aim for their heart.

The Ghosts

The next on the list are the ghosts. There are one hundred more vampire movies, which puts the ghost at the third place of this list. Like the other two, they are also dead. Most of them are not solid, but are capable of moving the objects or touching people. They can pass through walls, fly, disappear… There is no real way of killing them, since they are not reanimated in any way. They just died and decided to stick around.

The werewolves

With six times less movies than zombies, the werewolves are the last movie monsters I will analyze before we put them against each other. Almost any decent, modern vampire movie, features some kind of a werewolf as an enemy to the vampire. They are not dead for a change, and are actually normal humans. They just turn to wolfs or bear-like creatures on a full moon. Silver is good for killing them, but mostly any regular weapon will kill them at some point.

That is it. Now we have some general idea about who is who and what are their abilities. Now let´s put them against each other.

The fight

Let´s start with the werewolves. They never managed to defeat the vampires, wouldn´t have a chance against ghost and let´s be honest; they wouldn´t be able to destroy the zombies, without turning into one among them. It may seem as a fair fight because both sides are not capable of using any weapons, only their hands and teeth. The werewolves may be stronger and faster, but as I said, all of them would become infected. And there is that one big flaw with our human-wolfs; they are wolfs just for a day or two, most of the time they are just regular humans.

The next are the vampires. So, they were always capable of defeating or enslaving the werewolves. It is not that surprising because of the only one day being a wolf rule. The werewolf bite is deadly to vampires so they have some change of a fair fight, but at the end, vampires would definitely win… as always. The vampires would have no chance against the ghosts. They would probable manage to avoid the zombies at the beginning and easily kill some of them. But at the end there would be no more humans since they would lose the war against the zombies. The vampires would run out of food and ultimately be destroyed.

The zombies would have no problem infecting all the werewolves and killing the food source for the vampires. The problem would be the ghosts. Just imagine the situation: the ghost can touch and kill the zombies and the zombies can´t infect the ghosts.

And finally the ghosts. They are already dead, and can´t be eliminated by any known way. Although The ghost busters may not agree with me on that.

So, that is it. The fight is over. The ghosts won against every single enemy. The only ones that are able to stop them are humans, and the humans are almost extinct because of the zombies. The humans are the ultimate losers, after them the werewolves, then the zombies and finally the ghosts are the winners. Some may believe that, because of their intelligence, the humans would survive long enough for ghost to calm down and start living their normal life again. Of course, the zombie virus should be gone by then for the humans to rebuild the civilization.

As far as the ghosts are concerned, there is no point in discussing who the strongest movie monster is. It would be interesting to think about the world without the ghost and figure out a way to beat the zombies.

Maybe it could be done by joining forces with some other monsters that live on a movie screen.

6 body parts we have but actually don´t need

Be the first to comment!
Labels:
Human body has about two dozen parts that is doesn´t need. All of them are left from the early times of the evolution and had a vital role in a survival. Now, we managed to evolve and have no use of them anymore. Eventually, they will disappear completely and are already in the process of vanishing. Charles Darwin called them vestigial organs and used them as one of the evidences for the evolution theory.

Let´s see what are some of the most popular and useless parts of us.

#1 An appendix – once useful, now dangerous

An appendix once had a big role in the digestion process. It was probable designed to help digest raw plants because the stomach wasn´t good in that. Now it is believed that it hasn´t got any real or vital purpose. Some claim that it has a new function and that is to help us fight diseases. We don’t really need it and many people had their surgically removed after becoming infected.

#2 Do tonsils have any purpose except causing the pain?

Tonsils are the most removed human organ. They are used to fight the diseases that attack the throat. Once they manage to defeat the infection they get red and start to swell. It happens often and because of that, it was normal for people to remove them in their childhood. Today, we have antibiotics that help repress the symptoms and usually don´t remove them as a precaution.

#3 A very small tail

The tail bone is a proof that we used to have a tail. As we started to walk on two feet, the use for it disappeared and all that was left is a little bone. Although it helps us a bit while sitting and standing, the main use of it, and the most of what it was, is now gone.

#4 Wisdom tooth

People usually have four of the wisdom teeth, but some have none. The evolution started to remove wisdom teeth from our genetic code because we no longer have any use for them. There are many people that have them removed because they can create severe problems. They were useful once when our jaw was bigger and we had to eat a lot of plants to survive. Today, they are mostly just in the way.

#5 The use of goose bumps

When you get cold or scared you usually get the goose bumps too. There is no purpose for them because we don´t have our fur anymore. They were used to create a ticker layer of hair to keep the heat from escaping our body. It is not sure why we don´t have fur anymore, but still have our goose bumps. It is safe to say that after some more time we will lose that useless ability too.

#6 Moving my ears

There are some people that are capable of moving their ears up, using only their ear muscles. Some believe it is a skill that can be learned, and they are right. We all have the muscles needed to perform that funny and useless trick, but we can´t do it without some practice. The muscles were once used to move the ears in different directions without the need to move the head. It is something that comes very useful in a hunt. Since we don´t hunt our pray to survive anymore, we are more and more losing the ability to move them at all.

4 Facts people think are true but are actually not

Be the first to comment!
Labels:
There are many scientific and historical “facts” that people believe are true. I will not try to figure out why during the time when information is so easily available. The list of so called facts goes on and on, but I will concentrate only on the ones most people think are true.

#1 Mars is red; Earth is blue; Sun is yellow

First on the list are planets and the most famous stars of all. The color of the Sun is the long lasting lie people believed. Almost every person would say that the Sun is yellow in color. There is nothing wrong in thinking so because that is how we are seeing it every day. Only when humanity managed to send telescopes to space, we found out the truth.  Sun is not yellow. The real color is actually white. The reason for believing otherwise is our own atmosphere. Depending on the time of day that is conditioned by the Earths orientation towards the Sun, we can see stars in different colors. It is mostly yellow, so we usually think of it in that way. When observing from space, it is clear that the real color is white. When the light passes through the atmosphere it only seems to be in some different color.

We started getting pictures of Mars pretty recently. On all of them we can see how red it is, can´t we? But, the planet itself is actually orange and the iron rich atmosphere is red. When we look at Mars we actually see its atmosphere´s color and not the planet´s. The same goes for Earth. It is obvious to anyone that the earth we are walking on is not blue, but the sky is. The sky we look at is actually our atmosphere which is colored in blue because of the color of ozone.

#2 Bulls hate color red

Some believe that bulls can see only one color and that it is red. It is quite obvious to everyone who ever watched the matador waving a red sheet and bull starts rushing towards it.  That is not true! Bulls can actually see all the colors and not just red. Bulls are usually attacked due to the movements made by the matador and not the color. There were also experiments made when bull actually ignored red and attacked to some other color. Of course, when a different bull was tested he actually did prefer red. Normally the bull´s reaction is always to attack the one that is moving no matter what color it is.

#3 Napoleon was short

There are two reasons why people think that Napoleon was short. The first is because his height was officially listed as 5.2 feet. Ok, now you think that is short, but you are missing crucial information because French units are not the same as modern international units. When converted to modern international units his height is measured at 5.7 feet which is common. With that height he was actually above average in his time. Why did people call him “Le Petit Caporel” (The Little Corporal) then? It was because he was always surrounded with very high bodyguards and seamed short in comparison. Also, the nickname wasn´t intended as an insult rather as the sign of affection.

#4 Christopher Columbus discovered America

To say it plain and simple: He didn´t. He wasn´t in a search for a new land and he didn´t even know he reached America at first. Columbus planned to go to Asia, and wasn´t surprised how short the trip lasted because he thought it was located where America is. If, by chance it was not America, he and his crew would have died from starvation because he miscalculated the supplies needed for the trip. In fact, America was already known as a popular fishing site for rich Europeans at the time Columbus lived.

Interesting facts about the Internet you probable don´t know

Be the first to comment!
Labels:
It is almost impossible to find out any solid statistics about the Internet. The reason is that our global net is becoming incomprehensibly bigger every second. The statistics that were made a year ago, or just a month ago, are no longer valid. So, I will stick to the facts that are not likely to be changed ever.

But before that, let´s see what the Internet really is. People often think the Internet and World Wide Web (WWW) are the same thing. They are not. World Wide Web is a system of interlinked hypertext documents that people are accessing using the Internet. The Internet is a system of interconnected computer networks. So, in plain terms, the Internet is the hardware and World Wide Web is the software.

Let´s see how they started.

The internet began in 1960´s at MIT. It is much sooner than anyone would say, because it took some time for the creators to make it usable worldwide. The first word ever transmitted over the Internet was LOG. It is not a kind of a code but a failed attempt to write LOGIN. The newly created network wasn´t able to withstand the greater amount of data after writing the letter ‘G’. The result was the crash of the network and leaving only half of the intended word online.

After some fine-tuning, creators managed to put together the first web page. It´s URL was and still is http://info.cern.ch/hypertext/WWW/TheProject.html . The page was dedicated to the first “WorldWideWeb” project containing a lot of information about it. At that time, it was the only page on the Internet. The original page is lost, but the recreated content is still available at the same link.

You know how today, most people (statistics say 50%, but as I already mentioned, they can´t be trusted) use the Internet for sharing files using torrent or some similar streaming media? Well, the authorities had a similar problem in the late 1980´s when one web site was actually forced to shut down.

Search engines made our lives on the Internet much easier. Although Google wasn´t the first it is certainly the best when it comes to finding the data on the Internet. But Google had some initial problems too. Did you ever wonder why Google looks the way it does; Why it only has a field to enter the keywords and a search button? It is left from the times when founders of Google didn´t know much about HTML or design, but only concentrated on finding the information.

Today, according to Google, there are more than five million terabytes of information on the Internet. For those of you who don´t know, one terabyte is 1024 gigabytes, and one million has six zeros. Do the math on your own.

All that data contains many pictures and about 80 per cent of them are of naked women. Pornography also takes one third of all Internet searches.

Ok, I know I said that the statistics can´t be trusted, but I found it quite interesting. You can decide whether you think they are still valid.

There are 18 countries that still don´t have access to the Internet.

70% of Americans use the Internet and on the other hand only 3% of Africans us it.

There is only 17 per cent of world population on the Internet. One third of them come from Asia.

All URL-s from www.aaa.com to www.zzz.com are already taken.

North Korea´s internet statistics are confidential.

As any technology, the Internet has come a long way since that one web page. Today, we use it to watch videos, play games, post pictures and much more. It is only a matter of time when the things we can do now on the Internet will be considered obsolete and there will be some other article laughing about it.

8 of the most bizarre end of the world theories

Be the first to comment!
Labels: ,
Before reading the most bizarre end of the world theories I would like you to stop and try to think about the ones you heard of. I did the same thing before starting to write this text and managed to think of only two. Of course I am not talking about any official religious theory, just the ones people made up on their own and for some reason managed to become really popular.

After doing my research I was surprised to find more than 150 theories that become public and many people actually believed would happen. I am going to list them chronologically.

1 The end of Rome

The year many Romans believed would bring the end of the world was 634 BC. The Romans calculated the year by adding 10 years to the mythological eagles that had revealed to Romulus. It is not sure why the number 10 was added and not some other number. And yes it wasn´t about the ending of an entire world – just Rome. Still, it is the first recorded end of (something) theory.

2 The end of Rome (again)

When the first theory failed it made some room for the new theory. The new one was also created from the myth about Romulus but this time the calculations were different. The end of world (Rome) should have happened in 389 BC. It didn´t.

3 Secret dimensions of Noah´s ark

Although some Christians already had different ideas when the world will and; by the year 500 there was only one worthy enough to earn a place at this list. The prediction was based on the dimensions of Noah´s ark and after making the calculations it gave the year 500 as the last year ever. Of course the world didn´t end then.

4 Secret dimensions of Noah´s ark (revised)

Just like with Rome, the calculations from the dimensions of Noah´s ark were revised. According to the new calculations the world should have ended at the year 800.

5 Because it sounds good

One of the most popular dates for the end of the world was January 1, 1000. It is a nice round number so why wouldn´t the world end then? Well, it didn´t but many believed it would. The theory was taken so seriously that riots occurred through Europe and thousands of people headed for Jerusalem.

6 The “Comet pills”

There was a popular theory that Halley´s comet would destroy the atmosphere but not the planet itself and that the ones who took the “Comet pills” will be saved. The comet passed in 1910 and nothing happened – except someone earning a lot of money.

7 It still sounds good

One of the most popular theories was the one about the Y2K millennium bug. The bug was supposed to destroy all the computers in the world and cause a worldwide crisis that would lead to the world war. As the year 2000 approached so were more and more theories created. By January 1, 2000 there were a dozen of different theories that didn´t come true.

8 The last year

2012 was the best candidate for the end of the world. Mayans said the world would end at December 21, which many believed. People were so convinced that the end will come that many of them started building shelters and nuclear bunkers. There were thousands of theories what will happen but only few were actually connected with what the Mayans said.

After all that time and theories we are all still here. If you were wondering, the next end of the world is set to be at 2020. But don´t worry, since the author was already wrong 50 years ago.

8 interesting facts about human body you are not aware of

Be the first to comment!
Labels: , ,
Most of the people are used to living their life without thinking much about their body. People often spend much time thinking about their problems, plans for the future, their jobs, but rarely about one thing they can´t escape from. There are some facts most of you don´t know or never think about; today, I am bringing them to you.

1.You can´t swallow and breath in the same time

The reason for not being able to swallow and breathe in the same time is lying in the fact that we can talk. Almost all the mammals can perform that process, but none of them can talk. That flaw in human neck structure made many people choke while eating. They were unable to swallow a big piece of food and breathe in the same time, and were too nervous at that moment to do one thing at a time.

2.You can´t lick your elbow

Not being able to lick your own elbow is probable the most popular thing people know they can´t do. Almost every child tried to do it at least once in their childhood. There are two explanations why. First one is that your hand is too long and the second that your tongue is too short. You don´t really need to be a scientist to figure that out.

3.We are as hairy as the chimpanzees

Humans have the same number of hairs as the chimpanzees do. Ours are much lighter and thinner and some of them are almost invisible. Scientists are not sure why we have lost most of our fur but all agree that it has something to do with us becoming much more docile after the years of evolution.

4.There are more shades than you think

Most humans have 3 types of receptors used to see colors. Those 3 enable us to see many different shades but not all of them. There are people that have 4 or even 5 types of color receptors and are able to see much more shades than the rest of us. I can´t even imagine how that looks like.

5.We are all actually floating

Our body is made of millions of atoms that can never touch each other. It means that you actually never touch anything. When you are walking you are actually floating above the ground; when you are siting, you are in fact floating above your chair… The distance between you and ground, or a chair is so small that you think that the two are touching.

6.How old are you?

I don´t want to take this to a philosophical or religious level, but your real age is probable not the one you think it is. Every human is made of their mother´s and father´s genetic materials. But, did you know that your mother´s genetic material, which is located in the egg, is actually as old as your mother? The eggs are formed in females in their embryo stage and are the same ones used to create children. It means that half of your genetic material is actually as old as your mother. Do you still know how old you are?

7.You could live in space

Yes, you could live in space, but only for a short time. Forget about all that sci-fi movies you watched where people were exposed to open space and exploded or died instantly. Don´t worry, you wouldn´t explode or freeze to death. You would be able to survive as long as you could hold your breath. There was an astronaut in 1965 whose space suit got damaged during a spacewalk. He remained conscious for about 14 second but managed to survive.

8 of the very weird Guinness world records

Be the first to comment!

Guinness world records were originally created to hold the data about various “normal” records. They mostly concentrated on the highest, fastest, fattest humans alive but become something much different. Today, people do all kinds of stupid things to get their names in the Guinness book. Let´s see some of the weirdest records recorded.

1.The spoon man

If you were wondering how many magnetized spoons can human body hold look no further. There is a man called Etibar Elchiyev who decided to find the answer for you. He managed to hold 50 magnetized metal spoons on his body and entered the Guinness book.

2.The pierced man

I believe that Etibar has to go to Germany and meet a man called Rolf Bucholz. The two would make such good friends because they booth like metal. The reason why, is that Rolf has 453 piercings in his body and hold a record for the most pierced man in the world

3.Feeling really hungry

Did you ever woke up and decided to make couple of thousands of eggs for breakfast? In 2010 Turkish egg producers association decided to celebrate world egg day by cooking the world’s largest omelet. They decided to use 110.000 eggs and 432 liters of oil to make a 6 tons omelet. It was almost twice as big as the previous one.

4.Unicycle and a bottle

Knowing how to ride a unicycle is not something everyone can do. But, even fewer people can drive it over a 8.93 meter-long row of beer bottles. Lutz Eichholz decided to beat the previous record in obviously so popular discipline and managed to do so. His 127 beer bottles were in an almost one meter longer row than the predecessors.

5.Airport security nightmare

Since airplane tickets are so expensive, people were forced to find other ways for entering the airport without anyone noticing them. I don´t know if that was Leslie Tipton´s reason for managing to enter a zipped suitcase in 5.43 seconds. She managed to enter the Guinness world records book by doing so. I just hope she didn´t inspire some cheap man to do the same on the airports.

6.Well, I use it to clean my teeth

Were you ever so bored that you put your toothbrush in your mouth and a basketball on it and try to spin it? Michael Kopp has managed to do it for 26 seconds. Let´s just hope that he brushes his teeth longer than that.

7.Every bride´s dream

Every woman wants to have a perfect wedding dress. I don’t know if bigger (or longer in this case) is always better but a girl called Emma did. Emma was a model that had an honor to wear the world´s longest wedding dress ever. It took 100 days, 1.857 needles and 4.700 meters of material to make 2.750 meters long wedding dress. That would be some wedding procession.

8.The face you will remember

There are some men that have a really hairy faces. But the hairiest face record holder is actually a young girl called Supatra Sasuphan from Thailand. It is hard to say how hairy she is in any numbers but I guess that the Guinness judges managed to count all the hair on her face. She says that it doesn´t bother her and that it makes her feel very special. She is happy and proud to hold the hairiest face title.

5 Strange Animals and Why Is Them Not The Same As the Remainder

I am having a break from all that medicine-related mumbo-jumbo to fairly share some strange stuff (again). I'm sure you all know very well what animals are. Often, members of a certain 'class' of animals have things in accordance like egg-laying for birds o-r live birth for mammals. There are however some features of some of the people that produce them stand out. Here are some unusual animals and what makes them so.

Sloths

Sloths have a tiny ears, large eyes, a brief snout, and flat head. They likewise have long legs and a stubby tail. But what makes them different from other mammals? Many mammals have seven cervical vertebrae. Two-toes sloths only have six and three-toes sloths have nine. What also makes them bizarre is their physical abilities and behavior generally. Sloths can only just move one and every 5 minutes to a-half meter. How slow is that? Also, they spend nearly all of their lives hanging on the division sleeping for 15-18 hours (even though later reports say that they only rest for around 10 or so hours). They're going down only one time a week to urinate and other 'calls of nature.' Their small also cling to-the mother's fur but frequently fall down. The good thing is, they're fairly tough and don't die from falls. Nevertheless, in case a predator is waiting under, then there is an excellent chance that the young are certain to get eaten.

Platypus

The platypus is one strange person. It's the only mammal that's webbed feet and a rubber snout making it seem nearer to a goose than anything than anything else. The webbed feet is folded back when walking on land and is more notable on its front feet. Its jaw can be distinctive from many animals together with its jaw muscles. It's activity can be different as its human body is similar to a dinosaur that has the legs on the sides in place of underneath.

Bats

Bats are the sole trip capable mammals using the forelimbs developed directly into wings rather than legs or arms. They're much like animals so they're known as 'traveling rats.' They've poorly developed sight and track feed employing a process called echolocation. Fundamentally, they emit high-pitched sounds and pay attention to the echoes similar to the technology used in submarines. They use sonar to locate their prey in the place of by locating them visually.

Armadillos

Armadillo is Spanish for 'little armored one.' True to its title, the armadillo is really a mammal using a bony armor layer which it uses for defense against predators. They're great diggers and use their sharp claws to get for food and build dens. Like bats, they've poor vision. Their shield is formed by plates of dermal bone covered in relatively small, overlapping epidermal machines called scutes, which is composed of bone with a covering of horn. They have rigid glasses over the hips and shoulders, with a number of bands separated by skin covering the back and flanks. The armor includes the upper elements of the limbs, the top of the head, and the end.

Whales

When I was younger, I thought whales and dolphins were fishes. They don't have gills and breathe through their lungs which can make them different from fishes. Though they appear to be fishes with flippers and tail fins, they've mammary glands (which makes them mammals) which they use to feed their young with milk. It's believed that whales, along side whales and porpoises, are descendants of land-walkers. Although it might be difficult to believe, this unusual mammal have been found to have hind-leg bones which serve no purpose and serve as an object of attention among researchers, making many believe they have developed from land-living animals or would develop into one. It would be scary to assume whales walking on land though.

Five Weird Factual Statements About Time

You can not see it, hear it, feel it or smell it; yet it controls our lives and demands almost our every move from when to get right up to when we are asleep. It can be calculated very effectively by atomic clocks and yet time is one of many Universes most peculiar features.

It's only been because the work of Einstein and his specific relativity at the turn of the past century that people have begun to collect an awareness at what time is. Thanks to Einstein and the others that followed his work our understanding of time has led to new technologies such as computers, satellite navigation, community time servers (computer synchronisation devices) and atomic clocks.

However, the ideas developed following Einstein's work have discovered some amazing and freakish facts about time - listed below are five things you perhaps did not know about time:

5. Time has not always existed; it began at the moment of the big bang but before then there was no time (just like there was no universe). If the universe eventually contracts (in what some theorists call the big crunch) and the universe returned to just one point in space (singularity) then time would come to a conclusion (along with everything else in the universe).

4. Time isn't a continuing as was first thought (by Issac Newton amongst others), thank to Einstein we now know time is relative and is going to be vary to different observers depending on their position and speed. The quicker an is going the more time decreases and near to the velocity of light (in a vacuum which is the only real constant in a world) time will essentially stand still making a million year long journey whizz by in seconds this really is know as time dilation.

3.Time isn't an individual component of the universe it's in fact part of the very fabric of space and is connected in what Einstein termed a four-dimensional space time.

2. Place time could be 'deformed' by gravity which in place decelerates time that means the more gravity there is, the slower time will go. Interestingly it's been measures to such a degree by atomic clocks and ensures that your feet are actually younger compared to the top-of your mind.

1.Time travel isn't just a fantasy created by science fiction writers in reality time travel is theoretically possible in accordance with modern physicists although critics claim our technology can never be advanced enough to achieve it, otherwise where are all the time travellers from the future?

Atomic clocks mean we could now measure time very accurately (to in just a 2nd every 100 million years). Modern computer networks use NTP computers (network time protocol) to match to an atomic clock which allows computers all around the world to communicate in perfect time synchronization.

Weird deaths you will not genuinely believe that really occurred

Do you know how you feel after seeing an unusual scene of death in a low budget movie? You say it is only a movie and it is not true. But, some real life deaths are actually more bizarre than the screen writers can imagine. Some of them are ironic and some are just unbelievable.

Let´s start with the ironic ones.

A woman in Russia had heart attack and was declared dead. The family was informed and they organized funeral. It was an open casket ceremony and nothing was unusual, until the woman woke up. Though she was pronounced death she was very much alive. After she had seen her grieving family and herself lying in a casket, she had another heart attack. Unfortunately, that is the one which actually killed her.

A bit more brutal but still similar death happened to an old man who was declared dead after a stroke. Funeral was arranged by the family members and everything went fine. They buried him and left, thinking he was truly dead. The man woke up in couple of hours and died of shock.

The third death we are going to see is the weirdest of all. A man in Venezuela was declared dead due to a unknown cause. A autopsy was scheduled to know the reason for the death. During the procedure he suddenly woke up and later declared dead due to the autopsy itself.

The last ironic death happened to a 50-year-old man in USA. He shot himself in the head with his own gun. I called it an ironic incident because the man was at a gun safety class at the time of incident. He needed the class for sure but was too late on having one.

The next few deaths are just purely bizarre.

A man called Tycho Brahe was a very polite man. He was having a dinner party with some of his friends and had to go to the restroom. Since it is not considered polite to leave the table while eating, he decided not to go, until the dinner ends. He knew he had a weak bladder but decided to keep eating and drinking. The combination turned out to be fatal. Later he was not able to relieve himself anymore and suffered for the next 11 days until he died from poisoning. He was a genius in the field of astronomy but obviously not in the field of using a toilet.

Attila the Hun had some problems with liquids too but those were more of alcohol based. At his weeding he got so drunk that he did not notice that his nose started to bleed. He continued to celebrate and drink some more until the bleeding become so intense that it started to choke him. At the end he drowned in his own blood.

King Adolf Frederick of Sweden is said to have died as a very happy man. He loved eating and did not see any problem in having some caviar with sauerkraut, a full sized lobster, and a dozen of his favorite dessert served in a bowl of milk. Although he did not see any problem, his stomach surely did. Finally he was declared dead from a fatal digestion problem.

The last weird death we are going to see is similar to a really bad comedy. A 47-year-old owner of a textile company got wrapped into a giant spool of wool. It is still unknown how he ended up in a spooling machine in his factory, but we can be sure he did, because he was found wrapped under meters of yarn. It would have been very difficult to find him if his legs where not popping out of the giant ball of wool.
